AFC Delegation Courtesy Visit to the President of Botswana at the U.S.-Africa Business Summit 2023

President of Botswana H.E. Mokgweetsi Masisi and his team held a bilateral meeting with AFC at the U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Botswana to explore ways to collaborate on driving sustainable development.

H.E. Mokgweetsi Masisi remarked: “We set up this meeting to tap into AFC’s talent and skills with respect to the larger economy and our drive to transform it. We strongly believe we have a golden opportunity before us and we are so eager to get going, but we want to make sure we go right.”

AFC Board Member and Head of Financial Services Sanjeev Gupta commented: “Industrial activity in Africa cannot happen unless we systematically develop Africa’s primary goods to be added value at source. Botswana is the pioneer in having successfully managed to keep control over its most important resources, and this example needs to be conveyed, that it is possible. It has been done and it needs to be done more."
